These bags have been handmade in our workshop in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, using 100% cotton canvas. The gorgeous lining is made from Shweshwe, a fabric Africanised by the women of the Eastern Cape … the province made famous for being the birthplace and home of Tata Nelson Mandela. The tongue twisting name comes from the swishing sound of skirts made from this fabric.
